Several years ago my parents and I purchased 4 crypts at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx. New York, at that time a sales person very nice sold them to us. The crypts are located at the Garden conservatory. There are inside and outside crypts. At that time the Sales person did not mention this to us. We bought what she said were available, which we did not know where they were located. She just made it beautiful and we fell for it not checking for ourselves which ones were available. Three years ago my mother passed away and when we went to put her in the crypt, we noticed that it was outside the Bldg.we were a little disppointed, but we never said anythings. My father which was still alive was annoyed because we thought it was a Bldg. with inside crypts only. I was a little annoyed myself but did not mentiona anything to the office. A year ago, my father passed away, and in a few months we noticed that the Bldg. was adding more crypts. They said that it was too costly to built them inside, so they were doing another wing on the outside. The people that bought crypts with us that were on the outside at the back section that paid as much as we did, were enclosed and since our crypts were on the side of the bldg, were left in the open. I called the Office and they said that the architect was the one that did all the planning. They gave me a story and said they would get back to me which they never did. I wrote to them several times, and they never called or responded to my letters. In the interim, there seems to be vandalism, they are stealing the vases and flowers that are put in the outside of the crypts. Several people were complaining and nothing done, or no apoligizes letters sent to that group of crypts on the outside of the bldg. I think that Woodlawn which had a very good reputation, is not keeping up with their reputation. they are getting sloppy and careless, they just want to sell, sell sell and nothing else. The outside crypts that were located at the side of the Bldg. in the Conservatory Gardens, should have been enclosed also. The staff that are in the office do not respond or answer questions to the clientels. Very disappointed and if I have to I will take this issue with the Dept. of Better Business Bureau and further on if I have to..........
